No Script, Joshua Will Quickly Stop Jake Paul Out - Promoter Hearn Claims

I have no substantial justification regarding AJ vs. Paul. It's wild that it's happening and I feel the skeptics are spot on.

But, we just couldn't refuse it. No boxer in their right mind would have said no. Anyone who says they'd refuse are completely lying through their teeth.

We took a bout which we think is quite simple, will provide AJ a huge presence in America and one of the highest paydays.

The Plan Behind This Bout

AJ was going to have a tune-up bout in November in Saudi - an eight-round contest versus an opponent ranked about 100th in the world heavyweight rankings.

This was a chance to wrap the hands with his fresh training team, make the ringwalk and get some rounds in. Currently, we are doing that exact run-out however for about fifty times the money.

We possess a clear game plan in mind - to stop Jake Paul out as soon as possible. Then, we return to normal service being resumed next year.

AJ will fight against a top-tier fighter next February and - if all goes well - he will then face Fury.

So there is logic behind this craziness and taking this fight does not affect AJ's legacy. But losing to Jake or the fight even going the distance certainly would.

It would be a complete disaster and terribly embarrassing.

This Bout Is Not Pre-Arranged

So many people have asked me questioning if it's scripted. First of all, we would be investigated by the FBI if it was. It would be against the law. This is a professional contest and a sanctioned bout on which people are betting.

And does anyone believe I would ever permit AJ to follow a script involving Jake Paul? A script in which we could lose or even hold him up? No way.

We are not providing this guy an edge or a chance to say "I told you I was better than AJ" or "I took rounds from him". This would be catastrophic for AJ and we will not take that risk.

Expectations for an Quick Finish

Then there are those who say if AJ doesn't knock him out inside the first round then it is an embarrassment.

He is expected to walk through this opponent but, blimey, allow him two or three rounds just in case. Because how Jake approaches it will determine the pace of the finish.

Should he come forward, it will end rapidly. But if he fights on the back foot and attempting to tie him up and jab and move, then he might survive a couple of rounds.

We will not see AJ run across the ring in the first few seconds and start windmilling.

Similar to his approach against Francis Ngannou, he will step into the ring, measure him up and then unleash with his power shots.

Jake Paul Has the Ability to Whack Somewhat

I have heard figures like Roy Jones Jr and Atlas saying you can't count Jake Paul out in this fight. Am I really going crazy here Is there something they see that I am missing?

Let us be something clear - Jake is a pro fighter. I believe he's a decent 200-pound fighter - top 60 or 70 in the world.

This isn't an individual that has not put on boxing gloves before. He is able to punch with some power. He spars Lawrence Okolie and top-10 big men.

Forgetting the victory against Tyson, who was then well past his prime, Jake defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - who may have been a done fighter but was not a complete mug.

Chavez Jr trained for that bout and had been a titleholder who went to points with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and nearly stopped Martinez in the final round.

So I give credit to Jake for his hard work and showing respect to the craft of boxing and he has accomplished so much for female boxing through his Most Valuable Promotions.

But in spite of his delusion, passion, dedication and improved skills, he ought to be getting iced by Anthony Joshua.

The Moment Joshua Connects, It Is Finished

Jake and his team are hoping for many things. Banking on AJ underestimates him, hoping AJ is shot, hoping AJ's lack of activity will cost him, hoping AJ lacks self-belief, hoping AJ's chin isn't what it once was.

But, to their misfortune, AJ is extremely focused. He's had a camp and he's training like he's fighting Oleksandr Usyk or in a potential Daniel Dubois rematch.

I expect my fighter to triumph within two rounds with a devastating knockout.

A shot to Jake to the body and he would break his ribs and he wouldn't be able to get up.

If he hits him clean, he will knock him spark out. Or could jump in.

It is unknown how it could play out however with the way AJ throws punches - with his speed and destruction - the instant Jake is hit on the chin, the contest will end.

Subsequently we go back to AJ's primary objectives he wants to achieve in the remainder he has left in boxing - to fight Fury and to become a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
