Over 50 unaccompanied minor migrants who vanished not long after reaching the UK and while under the supervision of government agencies are still missing, according to data gathered.

A significant number of the missing children entered in vessels or hidden in the rear compartments of trucks and are believed to have been abducted by smugglers. This region is often the area where they first land.

Statistical Information Shows Disturbing Statistics

Disclosed records has documented 345 children disappearing from the region, with 56 of those remaining unaccounted for.

From 2021 and 2023, when two hotels for children were run along with similar establishments in various locations, 132 children disappeared from those two hotels. Of these, 108 were eventually recovered but 24 are still missing.

Between 2020 and August 2025, 213 children vanished from welcome hubs for this group, with 182 located and 32 yet to be accounted for.

Origin Statistics of Missing Children

In the two scenarios, minors from Albania were the biggest contingent to go missing, representing half the aggregate from the hotels, 68, and in excess of one-fourth from the welcome hubs, 65.
