An Australian man who jumped over a barricade and grabbed celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and barred from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was sentenced to over a week in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to Singaporean press.

He forced his way past photographers and rushed toward the celebrity, who was attending the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of interrupting performances and star-studded occasions, including leaping onto the platform at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many accusing him of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The pop star has discussed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her show in Manchester in May 2017 took the lives of 22 people and affected hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the judge was informed he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to cross the barriers. Security staff stopped him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted video clips appreciating the celebrity for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Authorities detained him the next day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by Channel News Asia as saying that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was mistaken to think he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not spoken about the case.

Cynthia Erivo discussed the event to a media outlet, remarking that she "simply desired to verify my colleague was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us danger, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I aimed to confirm that she was fine. That was my first instinct," she stated.
