Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
