Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
