US Army official Dan Driscoll allegedly conferred with a Russian group on Monday night, with discussions extending into Tuesday.

The current meetings follow prior discussions in Switzerland where US and Ukrainian representatives revised a draft American plan for resolving the war.

Russia has not yet endorsed the most recent iteration of the proposal and is unlikely to accept many of the Ukrainian amendments.

Russia’s top diplomat, the Russian diplomat, emphasized that any modified agreement must adhere to the “intent and text” of what was covered during earlier high-level meetings between both nations.

European leaders are apparently finding it difficult to remain involved in the process as US representatives assume control.

Finland’s president, a European figure, who has stepped forward as a key interlocutor between Washington and EU officials, stated that the coming days would be decisive in attempts to reach a peace settlement.

He reportedly held discussions with the Ukrainian president and Nato representatives, emphasizing that “Decisions about Ukraine’s future rest with its people, and with European security falling under Europe’s purview.”

At the same time, the France’s leader, Emmanuel Macron, cautioned against a agreement that would amount to a “concession” for the nation.

“What was put on the table gives us an idea of what would be acceptable for the Russians. But does this imply it should be endorsed by Ukraine and Europe? Certainly not,” he affirmed.

The US plan was reportedly composed of numerous clauses and was based on discussions between American and Russian officials, with input from Ukrainian defense authorities.
