Vince Gilligan Reveals He Knows How The Apple TV+ Show Will End... Currently.

The creative mastermind never anticipated that the Apple TV+ show would turn into a massive hit. “I am so grateful to the audience,” he states. “It was unexpected the show being as passionately debated as it is, and it makes me thrilled beyond words.”

With the first season of the hit series wrapping up—and Season 2 already in development—Gilligan and his team reflected on the audience reaction and whether it will impact the narrative path of Pluribus.

About the Tremendous Viewer Reception

It would be easy to get distracted by the constant speculation and audience predictions regarding Pluribus. He is striving to avoid both.

“The experience is akin to constantly eating hot fudge sundaes and being laughing uncontrollably,” he says. “It's wonderful, but I get wind of it through word of mouth, and that's on purpose. Not once have I Googled myself, nor do I ever want to. Not because I don't care. It's a deep trap I know I would disappear down and then I'd be living in squalor from Home Depot and I'd rarely emerge from my living room.”

Regardless of Gilligan’s best intentions, there’s no escaping the extremely enthusiastic response to the series. The best he and his team can do is to take it in stride and try not to let it influence the direction of the show.

“We don't try to change the plot,” says Alison Tatlock. “Our storytelling is not impacted by what people are saying.”

“We prefer to keep our noses to the grindstone,” he chimes in.

The Central Mystery: Has the showrunner See the Ending of Pluribus?

Considering the writers are not listening by public opinion, does it imply they have already decided how Pluribus will reach its endpoint? Essentially yes… in a way.

“We have some interesting ideas about the ultimate destination,” he states. “however, we remain prepared to throw out a solid concept for a superior concept. That philosophy has guided us in well on Better Call Saul and on Breaking Bad even before that. We throw stuff out when we get a better idea and I imagine we will be doing that.”

Alternatively, if they hit a wall, Gordon Smith has a humorous idea to fall back on.

“I constantly suggest that the entire story is inside a snow globe, and that we'll reveal the snow globe and we're in there,” Smith jokes, “but nobody's taking me up on that.”

Of course, one could always use the classics?

“My dream is Carol to open her eyes beside Bob Newhart,” Gilligan adds, smiling.

Pluribus can be watched on Apple TV+.
